Meet Danyell Lanier

Professional Trainer and Analyst

Danyell is a veteran of the Gulf War era. She grew up in a small town in Southeastern Oklahoma and knew after graduating from Hugo High School in 1994 that she wanted to serve her country.

She joined the United States Navy (1994-1999). During her first duty station, Danyell provided direct logistical support and intelligence to the 170 Seabees of Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 133 deployed to the Sava River of Zupanja, Croatia. Estimated at about $3 billion, Nato’s (IFOR) Implementation effort was to provide a secure environment so that peace could be brokered.

Danyell later served proudly onboard the USS Kearsarge (LHD-3) serving as the primary rescue vessel for Air Force Captain Scott O’Grady after his plane was shot down by hostile forces over Bosnia. Danyell’s logistical abilities of financial accounting, planning, and development were integral to the support of Operation Guardian Retrieval in 1997(2,500 American citizens and foreign nationals were evacuated from Sierra Leone during a time of civil unrest.)

During Danyell’ s naval career she earned the Defense Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Navy Unit Commendation, Navy “E” Ribbon, and Good Conduct Medal. Danyell honorably completed her enlistment in 1999. She then moved on to start a family.
